Chuchotage (whispered simultaneous interpretation)

The interpreter stays close to the people being addressed and whispers the interpretation directly into their ears. This technique is used for communication between a small number of people in close proximity, typically one-to-one meetings or small groups of people who do not share a common language.

Chuchotage is often used in place of consecutive translation in order to save time.
